After the windless sailing turned sightseeing, a couple of weeks ago, we have had two windy Wednesday-sailing-afternoons in a row. One with more unsteady winds than the other. Mother nature was fiddling frenetically withe the Beaufort knob last Wednesday. A bit more steady winds, sunnier and much nicer this Wednesday.

Afternoon sailing with an old friend turned into a sightseeing event, as the only wind we had for an hour and a half was a few minutes of light air. It lasted long enough though to move us from safely drifting in Lysakerfjorden, right into the shipping lane with a ferry approaching, before it died down again. That was the moment we gave up sailing and went sightseeing instead.

Afternoon sailing with old friends, in fresh to strong breeze. It became a gray and chilly afternoon, so we thought it proper to stop for coffee and moored off the Oslofjordens friluftsråds mooring buoy at Gressholmen.

Afternoon solo sailing down Bunnefjorden, the maritime version of a blind alley. This afternoon in moderate to fresh breeze. At one point the chubby little cruiser made 7.2 knots close hauled.

We have passed by this place many times. If memory serves me right, these tiny houses has been around for a couple of seasons now. They go down in the fall and pop up again in the spring. Only a low pile is visible during winter. Okay, so I have a clue as to what it is. The mystery is, how did they get permits to erect these houses on this small pearl of an island. I want one…

Our last stopover on this summers cruise was Son. Since it rained for the duration of our stay, all I can offer is this picture of us leaving Son and the rain behind.

Back in Hankø, this time we stayed in the guest harbor. A treacherous shallow place, we got stuck on the quay mooring chain trying to leave in a bit of wind.

Once again Strömstad, just across the boarder to Sweden, turned out as the furthest destination on our summer-cruise. This time we had a few more days to spend cruising, but decided to head back after studding the weather-forecast.
