Another summer cruise ‘must’

Holmsbu has become the second ‘must’ stop on our summer cruise. I might have mentioned a certain shrimp sandwich in earlier entries. In fact, I was planing to take a picture for the blog, but the moment the sandwich was placed in front of me, my brain switched from blog mode to eat mode. Maybe next time…

Detour

?
Out of the way place

The first time I blogged about this place I boosted about art galleries in this picturesque artisan town. We keep coming back, understandably, but it is mostly for the shrimp sandwich. The place is still picturesque and we have friends that resides here in the summer, although we missed them on this occasion, but the shrimp sandwich alone will make us (me) take this detour.

The Artisan town

Next stop on our cruise was beautiful and picturesque Holmsbu. The place recently got a new guest harbor that also looks very nice. However, the reason we made the detour to Holmsbu was to look at some paintings at ‘Holmsbu Billedgalleri‘.

A colony of painters settled her 100 years ago. Inspired by the best known of them, the gallery, featuring some of their work, is in the woods, literally facing the woods. Bit surprising as this is otherwise a marine environment.

As luck would have it, an old friend was just ‘back in town’, so we paid him and his family a visit.
